A message from Shirley
Happy Thanksgiving!
Fall is here. The kids are settled back in school, routines are re-established and now Christmas is coming!
In our hectic lives, Thanksgiving is a time do to just that, give thanks!
Let us take a quiet moment to reflect on the good things in our lives. Positive affirmations bring on a sense of joy and peace.
As I count my blessings, you, the Looking Your Best clients, bring sunshine everyday. I send a heartfelt thank-you for believing you can “Look Your Best”.
Warmly, Shirley Borrelli

 Fashion
This fall, layers are in!
Here are 10 tips on how to layer successfully:
- Monochromatic layers - black with charcoal, brown with camel gives a modern twist to “same colour dressing from head to toe”. Slimming if layers are kept neat!
- Keep proportions in balance – balance a wide pant with a narrow top (good for curvy body shapes) OR skinny jeans with a big volume top (beware hourglass).
- Add a single accent colour to your monochromatic outfit. Try RED!
- Accessories are piled on this fall. Try:
- Opaque or textured tights
- Ruched gloves
- A scarf or two
- A big belt (round body shapes beware)
- Hat (knitted cap)
- Hobo bag or satchel
- Round toe shoe or boot
- Pull the layer together with a wide belt cinched at the waist.
- High heeled platform shoes are hot! (Best for the under 35 crowd!)
- Stilettos are out! (Wear a more subtle heel.)
- Mix textures when layering:
- Corduroy with suede or faux fur
- Fine knits with chunkier knits
- Cashmere/tweed/ruffles
- Dark neutral colours (wear your darkest neutral tone from your personal book of colour).
- Only for the tall (5’7”+) neo-grunge: loose layers on top slouchy pants on the bottom.

Beauty: Hair Care
Fall is a time that you are probably ready for a new “look”. Here are some ideas:
SHORT HAIR: try a pixie-style with several layers.
LONG HAIR: add some wave with large rollers.
Hair colour for fall:
- keep your colour natural for the least amount of maintenance
- jazz up your look with a few pieces of colour like toffee, chocolate brown, plum, red
- to know exactly what colour, consider Looking Your Best’s Colour Analysis Package. Take all the guess work out of your hair colour and makeup choices - www.lookingyourbest.biz for more info
